If you think mattress cleaning in Dubai isn’t really necessary, I am about to change your mind. Apparently, those of us who have a habit of making our beds every day before heading off to work create the perfect warm conditions to let dust mites thrive in our mattresses. They have been linked to illnesses such as asthma, hay fever, and flu.
So, I recently found out that mattresses are the perfect place for bacteria and dust mites to breed. It became clear that I needed to look for mattress cleaning companies. God knows what was hiding and breeding in my mattress!
My Search for Companies that Offered Mattress Cleaning in Dubai
The next morning, I frantically searched online for mattress cleaning companies in Dubai. It wasn’t just because I wanted to get my own mattress cleaned. But I also wanted to make sure we got those companies on ServiceMarket. ServiceMarket is all about helping UAE residents find and get quotes for any service they need around the home, and I was on a mission to get the mattress cleaners on our site!
I found a company which offered mattress, upholstery, carpet and curtain deep cleaning, and sanitation. When I told them I was from ServiceMarket, they were nice enough to offer me a complimentary first clean to try out their dry and chemical-free treatment. I booked their standard mattress deep cleaning and sanitation treatment service for the following Saturday.
The Day of the Service
On the day of the service, the team arrived 10 minutes before schedule (a nice surprise in Dubai). They were in uniform, with a colorful large trunk with their equipment. The supervisor explained that the service would include three steps:
- Deep vacuuming
- Sanitation using UV light treatment
- Over-heated dry steam for additional sanitation
They removed the linens from the bed and then proceeded to use a deceivingly small – but very loud and powerful vacuum. It had 11 times higher suction power than the traditional household vacuum and HEPA filtration. They were able to suck out all the dust from my mattress, pillows, and duvet.
The team was so thorough to make sure they vacuumed every inch of my mattress (both sides!). This first step alone took over 15 minutes! It pains me to admit it but a full bag of dust came out of my mattress and pillows. It was 7 years’ worth of dust, dead skin cells, and hair.
The next step was to use medical-grade UV light to kill off any germs, bacteria, and dust mites from the mattress. The machine exposes your mattress to strong UV light. Even 10 seconds of it is equivalent to putting your mattress in the sun for two full days. Their last step was to sanitize my pillows, duvet, and bed cover to ensure that they didn’t leave any germs or mites. They dealt with it all!
Moral of the Story: Don’t Wait as Long as I Did!
Now that I’ve gone through the treatment, I would highly recommend it to anyone living in Dubai and the rest of the UAE. You will be really surprised by the amount of dust and impurities that the machine sucks out. Moreover, there are direct health benefits that you will feel post dust mite extraction. I felt a major reduction in symptoms of asthma, allergy, eczema, fatigue, etc. It is recommended you get your mattress cleaned every 6 months, and I’m definitely signing up for that. Such services are now listed on our site, so you can get quotes for the mattress, sofa, carpet, and curtain deep cleaning, and sanitation!
I’m so happy I got the service from them! If you haven’t done it, now is the time to find the services for mattress cleaning in Dubai. It isn’t just the mattress that needs regular cleaning to improve your sleep hygiene. Professional mattress cleaning companies also recommend comfortable and clean sheets for a good night’s sleep.
Wishing all our readers a clean and happy home!

Hello
How much do u charge for bed cleaning service? And can you clean pee stains from it?
Hi Sneha,
We do have cleaning companies on our site who are able to clean beds (including pee stains). Please submit a request on ServiceMarket to receive multiple quotes.
Thanks,
Emilene
I threw out my vacuum (with a dust bag) after ridding the apt. of bed bugs. I used a regular steam iron (the standing type) to heat the mattresses. Also, there is a regular product in stores which keeps bedbugs away for 6 months, one with orange in it, environmentally better I suppose. I am somewhat afraid to travel or stay in hotels now 🙁 Any travel advice for that?
Hi Jane,
We suggest reading reviews of hotels on sites like TripAdvisor before you book – you can usually get a good idea of the cleanliness of the hotel this way. It’s also a good idea to check your hotel room for bed bugs when you arrive (look under the mattress). Keep your luggage off the ground on a luggage rack and try not to leave your clothes lying around. If you want to take an extra precaution, it is possible to buy plastic covers for your luggage. When you get back home, the best prevention technique is to vacuum your luggage and to wash your clothes in hot water.
We hope that you don’t have this issue again. You can get quotes for professional pest control services on ServiceMarket.
Thanks,
Emilene
